Introduction
To start off, I will explain what to expect from this course and how to plan your time to make sure you can be efficient. You will learn about goal setting, time blocking, and setting yourself up for success.
Your Why
Why are you writing a book? What do you want, personally and professionally? In this module, I'll help you get clear on determining what it is that you want to accomplish with your book. You MUST know this before you begin writing.
The Purpose of Your Book
What do you want your book to DO for you? I will teach you to not be emotionally attached to your book. It is a "thing" that you will use as a tool to get what you want. That might sound cold, but the sooner you start to think of your book as a "tool" and not your "baby", you will see far better results. In this module, you'll start to make a list of all the things you'll do with your book once it's done.
Identifying Your Ideal Reader
Who is your ideal reader? I'll give you a hint: it's the person that you'd most want as a client! Identifying your ideal reader is crucial because I'm going to teach you a way of writing so they feel you're writing directly to them. As they're reading your book, they're thinking, "Holy cow, this person sure gets me!" and they start to feel a special bond with you. We want them to want to hire you!
How to Choose Your Topic
This is the module where you might have your greatest AHA moment. Some of my students start out with an idea for their book that they've been ruminating on for years. But once I get them in my clutches (haha) they actually end up writing a completely different book. Why, you may ask? (Hold on, I am about to knock your socks off again...) Here's why: Your book is not about YOU. Harsh, right? I know. But it's the truth. Your book is about your READER and how you can help them get what they want. Your topic changes from "I am great, let's talk more about me" to "I know how to do XYZ and I am going to show you how to do it/get it/have it it too."
Different Types of Books
In my 'regular' writing program (The Expert Author Program), I teach several different types of books that you could write, depending on your business and your goals. One of the quickest and easiest ways is what I call The 30 Day Book System and this is included in this course. Since we'll be a rather small group, I'll be able to chat with you on the group coaching calls and help you determine which style of book is right for you. 
Serving Others
In your business, how do you serve others? What is the transformation that your clients go through as a result of working with you? What are some of the things that you wish all your clients knew? What are some of the mistakes you want them to avoid? When you share these tips with them, they are so grateful! To you, it's easy, but to them, you're a genius.
Writing Your Outline
OK, now the fun begins! Finally, after all the prep work is done you will start to write your outline. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROCESS. We will give you a sample outline template that you simply fill out. It's so simple, a child could do it.
Getting it Done in 8 Weeks
The truth is that I cannot promise you'll have a book written in 8 weeks. Some people who sign up for this course will be able to do it, and some won't. But if you do the exercises and do the work, you'll definitely be off to a good start and you'll feel clear and confident and moving forward.
It will take some work. There will not be any little writing fairies flying into your home at night and writing it for you. ;) But, I assure you, it really is quite simple. You will never be staring at a blank screen. You will know exactly what you need to do each day.
Editing & Proofreading
Once you finish with your first draft, you'll need to get your book proofread and edited. I will share with you some free and paid resources to make sure that your final book is the best it can be and positions you as the professional you are.

I will show you exactly what you need to do to professionally publish your book on Amazon. 

Typesetting/Layout: One of the things that can make a book look unprofessional is when someone doesn't format it properly. This is where you really need to hire a Pro to do this for you. (If you really want to do it yourself, I include training on it for you but I don't recommend that you do it yourself. I'll show you how to spend a few bucks to have it look really good.) I want your book to be as professional as possible and a professional typesetter knows how to properly format the page numbers, headers, chapter headings, table of contents and all the other components that need to be included to look professional. I will share very inexpensive resources with you.

Cover Design: What makes a good cover? What makes a bad cover? You will learn the truth about cover design and what needs to be included. I will also share some good resources for awesome cover designers so you will not be left wondering how to do it.  

Images: Many people don't realize that you can't just go to Google and grab any image you like. That's actually stealing. I will teach you where to go to legally buy images for a very reasonable price, what "royalty-free" means, why black and white is better than color, how many images you need, what image to use on the cover, what "dpi" means, and more.

So, what happens after the 8 weeks?
The group coaching lasts for 8 weeks. When the calls end, you will still have access to all the online training modules and the recordings of the calls.

I have no idea what to write about
Don't worry, this is very common. Many of us have so many fabulous ideas, it's hard to narrow it down. But the truth is, there is a simple formula to figure out what to write your book about and I will teach it to you. 

What if there is already a book on my topic?
This is a very common concern. But the truth is, there is only one YOU and since you are unique, your book will be unique! 
What about formatting?
First, write your book. I do include formatting instructions inside the membership area but don't worry about it right now. Worrying about what comes later is one of the ways that people self-sabotage. They waste their time 'researching' when they should be writing their book. I will remind you of this if I need to. 

Do I need special software?
If you don't have Microsoft Word, you can use Google Docs, which is free. 

What if I can't come on the calls live?
If you can't come on the calls live, you will still benefit from watching the recordings.
